By purchasing a Zoe angel you will not receive an angel yourself, instead your angel will be sent to the Mowbray Maternity Hospital outside Cape Town, where The Zoe Project has taken on the worthy cause of redecorating the room where mothers are birthing their stillborn babies. All the Zoe-angels are different. They are based…
In August we received an email from Tammy, who is a volunteer doula for The Zoe Project at the Mowbray Maternity Hospital in Cape Town. Tammy wrote: “We have undertaken a project to redecorate the room where mothers birth their stillborn babies. This is in an effort to create a peaceful, calm cocoon of a space for these women and their families in this time of deep sadness. I was wondering if you would be willing to donate some of your extraordinarily beautiful angels to hang in the space?”
Of course we said yes – and sent some of our most cherished angels to the Mowbray Maternity Hospital.
We were deeply humbled by this request from Tammy and The Zoe Project – to know that the angels from Karoo were seen to bring some sort of comfort to mothers and families in such heartbreaking circumstances.
We at Karoo Angels want to continue our support to the Mowbray Maternity Hospital, and this is the purpose and meaning behind the Zoe Angel – a very special angel that we will send to The Zoe Project.
